I woke up this morning feeling content, and well-rested. The first time in a really long time. It was great!
I checked my phone, wanting to see what he said, and reality came crashing back.
Oh, yeah. He's not there anymore.
Tears slipped out of my eyes.

The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping,
I dreamed I held you in my arms
When I awoke, dear, I was mistaken
so I hung my head and cried.
