Onward Christian Soldiers

epiphany! listening tonight on the news to the questionable presentation of one of the presidential candidates made by a well-known pastor, and the subsequent dissection of said act, I had a AH-HA! moment. They're talking of how, should a particular mormon in the limelight become the presidential nominee, the media will delve deeply "and nuetrally" into this religion, possibly scaring many people aware from the church but not necessarily from the candidate. As I think of all the attacks that will be waged onto the validity of the Christian status of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, it's no wonder the prophet and apostles were advising us to study the Bible as well as the Book of Mormon. Not only for our benefit but also for that of those around us.

We are in these last days. The tribe of Ephraim has a special duty to help prepare the world for the Second Coming of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As we are everfast approaching this day, the need for us to become missionaries also greatly increases. Every member will be a missionary in a very real sense. The world will be scrutinizing us, asking us questions, wondering, are we really Christians?

I can testify to the veracity of the promise found in D&C 11:21: "seek not to declare my words, but first seek to obtain my word, and then shall you tongue be loosed; Then, if you desire, you shall have my Spirit and my word, yea, the power of God unto the convincing of men."
and again in D&C 84:85: "Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say; but treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man."

I have experienced the fulfillment of this promise time, and time again. Our Heavenly Father is acutely aware of each and every one of us. Brothers and sisters, we may not wear the tag, but we have taken upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ. We are bearers of the Good News. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in it's fulness. Let the world see our good works and glorify our Father which is in Heaven. That we truly are followers of Christ.
